Arte Xávega, is an artisanal fishing technique that dates back to the 18th century. A large net with long ropes is launched into the sea from a boat, leaving one end of the rope on the beach. The net gets dropped into the water and the boat returns to the beach with the other end of the rope. Both ends of the rope are then pulled together trapping all the fish inside and hauled on shore.

I missed the boat going out but I managed to get some photos of the catch and the process after the fish is caught.
